Dear Primary One Parents/Carers
We know this is a very worrying time for everyone, particularly if you have a child who is due to start school in August. Transitioning from Nursery into P1 is an important milestone in a child’s life and a big step for parents and carers too. We want to reassure you that our school staff will be available to support you and your child on their journey into Primary One at Craigentinny Primary School.
Traditionally during the summer term April – June our school would have a strong focus on building relationships and supporting children and families with transitions. We are still planning to do this, but it will look slightly different due to the current physical distancing advice and like you, we are waiting for national guidance around the reopening of schools.
In Edinburgh, all Early Years settings and primary schools will be working together on one big project using Michael Rosen’s ‘We are Going on a Bear Hunt’. All the information that you need to get involved in this transition theme will be posted initially on our school website and also sent out through our school app. We will also be contacting all families on our Primary One list over the next few weeks and also talking to our partner nurseries and schools. Please be aware that we will be calling from a withheld number as per City of Edinburgh Council guidelines.
Documentation will appear here soon.
